Lovers of fine wines will be thrilled by these exciting, informative and perfectly organised wine events and highlights in Merano and Environs! But that's not all: throughout the year, there are varied events taking place around our hotel in Scena/Schenna, where gourmets and culture lovers will certainly get their money’s worth.
The annual event highlights
For wine lovers, gourmets, and culture fans
In spring, Merano/Meran shows itself in all its splendour. Fascinating plant and flower installations adorn the city centre. A colourful flower market and a varied supporting programme round off the spring event.
Every year again in spring a new love story takes place in Verona: Vinitaly. Wine producers from every corner in Italy come together and present their fine wines with style.
During the South Tyrolean Gourmet Festival in May you find yourself face to face with pure culinary delight. In the Old Town in the centre of Bolzano/Bozen the focus is on local products and you are invited to sample South Tyrolean wine in various locations, bars and locales.
From the end of May to the beginning of September, locals and guests in Scena/Schenna enjoy (almost) every Thursday live music, shops open until 11 p.m., attractions for children and adults, and culinary specialities in a relaxed atmosphere.
“Pfinstig” is the old (and in many parts of South Tyrol still common) name for Thursday. On the first Thursday from June to October, there is folk music and hearty dishes at Schennaberg.
Every year in July, Scena/Schenna transforms into an Eldorado for vintage car drivers and their lovingly maintained vehicles for a week. But this international event offers much more than just cars: breath-taking panoramas, warm hospitality, and culinary delights are also a part of the event.
On a Sunday in August, top South Tyrolean chefs spoil their guests with innovative delicacies, which they prepare on the Gompm Alm on wood stoves in the woods and meadows. Local exhibitors also present selected South Tyrolean specialities. Musical accompaniment will also be provided.
Roughly two thirds of all South Tyrolean wines are grown on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Some of the many wine cellars on the Wine Road present their best South Tyrolean wines during the Caldaro Wine Days in September with traditional farmer’s food and cheerful live music.
The traditional Sunday parade cannot be missed at the autumn festival in September. Also, hearty dishes, lots of music, and friendliness are part of it the fun.
An event with cult status! In autumn Merano/Meran and Tirolo/Dorf Tirol offer the event VinoCulti and with it all kinds of interesting, humourous and rare facts around the theme of “wine”. The programme of the event is as refined as the South Tyrolean meals, which are served here and the wine, which is presented against the backdrop of a gorgeous autumn setting.
This festival in November is the meeting point for wine agents and representatives in Italy and all over the world. Top wines and fine cuisine please the palates of visitors during this most acclaimed enogastronomic event.
