The South Tyrol Gourmet Festival
Your date with the taste: on May, 24th until 26th 2012 the historical centre of Bolzano will celebrate the first South Tyrol Gourmet Festival, focusing on local culinary delights guaranteeing the quality of origin of South Tyrol. The centre of attention will be the "Grand Tasting Forum" at the beautiful Maretsch Castle in Bolzano. More than four hundred top wines will be presented by producers from all of South Tyrol winegrowing zones. The "Gourmet Bistro" and the "Wine Lounge" represent the perfect site to taste a glass of wine in relaxed surroundings. The new wine trends lead to elegance and balance and these nuances in vintage will be revealed in the free tasting date at the Maretsch Castle "Leading Alto Adige Varieties" (Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Schiava, Pinot Noir and Lagrein) and the "Top of Schiava", where one selection from the best wines will be celebrated with the 2011 Schiava Cup.

Wine has a rich history also in the Southern part of the region of South Tyrol. On September, the Caldaro Wine Days are a celebrated, occasion on which local wine makers present their very best products.
